Mechanical Engineering Highlights

  • Mechanical Engineering Associate Professor Yan Wang is a corresponding author on a paper describing the generation of a coherent phonon flatband — the first instance of this — in the Sept. 26. 2025 edition of .
  • Associate Professor Pradeep Menezes has been included in the August 2025 Elsevier Data Repository, a ranking creating and maintained by researchers at Stanford University in collaboration with Elsevier, an academic publishing company; and the research analytics company Scopus. View the 
  • Teaching Associate Professor Angelina Padilla has received the Ralph E. and Rose A. Hoeper Award for Excellence in Teaching and Advisement in May 2025. Padilla, who also serves as associate chair for the Mechanical Engineering Department, has been recognized for teaching excellence in the past: she was the F. Donald Tibbitts Distinguished Teacher in 2022.
