New Student Orientation

The New Student Orientation program helps ease the transition to college for incoming students and their families and supporters. Students get to know campus, meet classmates and prepare for a great first year at the University. Orientation is required for all first-year students and optional but highly recommended for new transfer students. Parents and other supporters are invited to participate in a family orientation program that takes place at the same time.

LiberalArtsFIT

The LiberalArtsFIT program helps students transition to college with a weeklong immersion before classes begin to meet faculty and explore majors in the College of Liberal Arts.

Academic advising

Mandatory academic advising will take place soon after New Student Orientation, where you will have ample time to meet with your academic advisor to learn about the courses in which you have enrolled for the Fall semester. You will discuss your placement, course selection, how to use our online Navigate system and how to utilize your Academic Advising Report (AAR).

Nevada Career Studio

We encourage our students to find their passion in college and choose a major in a subject they truly want to study. With a unique partnership with the Nevada Career Studio and a Senior Coordinator of Student Engagement and Experiential Learning, the College of Liberal Arts provides students with the best access to information about career preparedness.
