Scholarships for Nevada freshman

For maximum financial aid and scholarship consideration, students must have a completed admissions application, transcripts, test scores (ACT/SAT), FAFSA/Institutional Methodology form, and a general scholarship application (MyNEVADA) on file by February 15th.

New freshman 4-year scholarships for Nevada residents

Eligible students may receive one of these awards. Scholarship awards are per year for up to four consecutive years or graduation (whichever occurs first).

New freshman four-year scholarship details

Unweighted GPA is calculated on a scale ranging from 0 to 4.0 and does not assign additional weight for courses like Honors or Advanced Placement.

 

 

Maintaining eligibility for continuing students

In order to maintain their four-year renewable scholarships, students must do the following:

General requirements

  • Maintain Nevada residency for tuition purposes
  • Meet federal Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements
  • Meet the minimum 15-credit requirement each semester (fall/spring only)

GPA requirements to maintain scholarship

GPA requirements are cumulative GPA at the Âé¶¹´«Ã½AV.

  • Presidental Level Scholarship: 3.5
  • Provost Level Scholarship: 3.2
  • Nevada Scholars Scholarship: 2.9
  • Pack Pride Scholarship: 2.8
  • Alphie Scholarship: 2.8
  • Luna Scholarship: 2.8

GPA enforcement begins with the start of the student's second year the University.

FAQ about four-year scholarships for Nevada freshmen

 

Alternative one-year scholarship for Nevada residents

New freshman that do not submit SAT/ACT scores may receive a one-year award based on their unweighted1 cumulative high school GPA only. These scholarships are not stackable with the freshman 4-year scholarships or National Merit Scholarship.

Receive up to $11,500 per year

Pack Promise+ is a need-based, last dollar financial aid program. If you meet all requirements, you can get up to $11,500 in gift aid (grants and scholarships) to help pay for your tuition, fees and books. Gift aid is financial aid that does not require repayment, making college more affordable for you.

National Merit Scholarship

Not stackable with new freshman scholarships

The National Merit is the University’s most prestigious scholarship for entering freshmen who are National Merit Finalists who select our University as their first choice with the National Merit Scholarship Corporation before May 1.

Only for eligible Nevada students

The Governor Guinn Millennium Scholarship Program provides scholarships to Nevada high school graduates that meet eligibility requirements.
