Repairs and improvements are underway to enhance accessibility and pedestrian routes in the historic area between Manzanita Lake and the corner of 9th and University. This project will address accessibility, site circulation, and needed infrastructure upgrades around the lake. The project focuses on repairing the pedestrian route along the Orr Ditch on the south side of the lake and extending the pathway around the east side of the lake, offering an accessible route that brings all members of the campus community to the lakefront.

A new accessible path is also being added through the east side of the Manzanita Bowl, providing an improved route from the Mathewson Gateway up to Manzanita Lake and the main campus. The project includes a student event plaza west of the Clark Administration Building and a new patio overlooking the lake on its east side.

Site development will incorporate landscaping enhancements, irrigation improvements, and installation of amenities such as benches and lighting. Structural upgrades to the Orr Ditch and new utility conduit connecting the main campus to the Mathewson Gateway will also be completed. Together, these improvements address longstanding accessibility needs, modernize utilities in this area, and support a more functional and welcoming entrance to campus.
