Black Rock Press Outreach

For over 60 years, Black Rock Press at the Â鶹´«Ã½AV has served as a center for the art of the book and a hub for community creativity. Through our workshops, exhibitions, and pubic programs, we are dedicated to sharing the traditions and innovations of fine printing, bookmaking, and paper arts with the broader community.

Our outreach includes hands-on public and community workshops, such as demonstrations at the Nevada Humanities Literary Crawl and special events at Black Rock Press itself. This past year, we welcomed participants to Learn the art of Creating Your Own Suminagashi Paper, a workshop open to all skill levels, where guests explored the process of marbling paper with ink and water.

Black Rock Press is also committed to presenting the work of artists, students and the broader book arts community through exhibitions. Most recently, we celebrated our 60th anniversary with Voices on Paper: 60 Years of the Black Rock Press, held at the Tahoe Gallery, showcasing the breadth and impact of our legacy. Whether through festivals, gallery receptions, or hands-on workshops, Black Rock Press strives to make the art of the book accessible, engaging and inspiring - for artists, writers and the curious alike.
